Van Landingham Rotary Club continues to promote the ROTARY RELIEF FUND, a COVID 19 relief effort launched May 1st.  The program provides funds for purchasing grocery cards to help those in our community who were furloughed, displaced from their jobs and in need of support to feed their families.

Partnering with District 7770 grant funding, Van Landingham Rotary Club has been soliciting funding from individuals, businesses, and outside funding sources to keep these grocery cards purchased and directed to Deep Well for distribution.  Special thanks to David Martin, owner of Piggly Wiggly Coligny Plaza, who continues to support our Club and any efforts to help those in need in the Lowcountry.  Also, Sandy Gillis, Executive Director of Deep Well, would like to acknowledge the feedback she's received from recipients of the grocery cards.  "This effort has truly made an impression on those in our community who have struggled the most with the fall-out from COVID19 and the loss of income for many," said Ms. Gillis. "Your Club's efforts are truly appreciated and you should share with your Club members that their generosity and outreach has not gone unnoticed.

This week an EBlast was sent to over 1500 people who support our VLR Auction each year asking them to consider making a contribution to the cause.  Please continue to share the program with your friends and associates.  We plan to continue this project through the month of June (with contingency plans to continue based on donations).  Thanks to each of you for the difference your contributions are making in your community.
