Club Foundation Chair and Past President Greg Wynn presents Eric Smith with his Major Donor recognition. Eric became a Major Donor prior to joining our club and had not received his recognition. Congratulations Eric and thank you for your support of The Rotary Foundation.

President Jacob Hunt called the meeting to order. The prayer and pledge was led by Kevin Courtney. Two guests, Chris Epps mother and a guest of Nick Mihelic were welcomed. Our speaker Dick Dubiel was introduced by Suzi Oliver.

Dick spoke about Energy in SC "Why Small Modular Reactors?" : The electrical grid is near capacity; Continuing to shut down coal fired plants; Increased demand; population growth; AI; renewables not reliable sources. He also talked about the demands that AI puts on the system: AI requires large data centers operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; presently there are 25 teams in the process of developing AI data centers. The most well known are: Google, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon. Sources of reliable power for data centers are Increased production of natural gas, fracking & Nuclear power.

In addition to our normal prayer and pledge, the colors were presented.
Our speaker was Maestro John Russell to speak about the H H Symphony Orchestra and a fascinating talk about music.
He has been with the H H Orchestra for 13 years. They perform once a month at First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Russell spoke about what sets the H H Orchestra a part from other orchestra. Music and concerts bring people together, telling musical stories. They are planning next years programs. He spoke of up coming concerts.
